DevKoe is a one-to-one English conversation practice service for software engineers, operated from Australia (ABN 73 921 039 985). This page explains, in plain language, what personal information we hold, why, where it lives, and how you can have it deleted. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected].
What we collect
- If you book a free intro call — the name and email address you enter on the booking page, before you have bought anything. The booking page is run by Zoom, which passes us your email address and the time you chose so we can prepare for the call.
- Your contact details — the name and email address you use to sign up and sign in.
- Session recordings — each session is recorded (audio and video) so you can keep it and so we can review your progress. These are yours as much as ours.
- What you write in the portal — the short preparation you complete before sessions and any notes you add.
- Progress notes — our written feedback and the final progress review.
- Billing information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
- Visits to our home page — counted by Plausible Analytics, without cookies (see below). What we see are totals, such as how many people viewed the page and which sites sent them, and nothing that identifies you.
Why we hold it
Only to hold the intro call you booked and to deliver the program: to run and prepare your sessions, to give you your recordings and feedback, to track and show your progress, and to take payment. Visit counts tell us only how many people find and read the site. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where it lives
We keep things with a small number of well-known providers, each handling one job:
- Cloudflare — hosting, the member portal database, and storage of your recordings and files.
- Stripe — payments and subscription billing.
- Zoom — the intro-call booking page, the live video sessions, and their recordings.
- Resend — the emails we send you (your sign-in link, session reminders, and program notices).
- Plausible Analytics — counts visits to the home page, in English and Japanese. It sets no cookies. For each visit it receives the page address, the site that linked you there, and your browser's IP address and user agent. It uses the IP address and user agent only to count each day's unique visitors and to work out your browser, device type and approximate location (country, region and city), and it stores neither. Plausible keeps its data in the EU.
Recordings and files are stored so that only your own signed-in account can reach them.
How long we keep it
We keep your recordings, written work and progress notes for the length of your program and for 12 months afterwards, so they stay available to you after you finish. After that we delete them. Basic billing records are kept longer where the law requires it.
You can ask us to delete your data at any time — including before that period is up. Email [email protected] and we will permanently delete your recordings, written work and program data, and confirm when it's done.
Your choices
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that's wrong.
- Ask us to delete your data (see above).
Questions about any of this? Email [email protected] — a real person will reply.
